The harbour is the heart of Kristiansund. The Sundboat has been in traffic here since 1876, like a bus, transporting people between the city‘s four islands. Sundbåten is a trademark for the town and the kristiansunders are very proud of the long tradition on their harbor. Like the cable cars in San Francisco, established in 1873, the Sundbåt are among the world oldest public transport company still in operation.
